Lowes Build and Grow!
Today Peyton and his Dad had a "boys morning out". They went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast then headed to Lowe's for the Build and Grow program. Peyton built a treasure chest. He got a cute apron and goggles as well has he earned a certificate and patch to attach to his apron. Tim was very impressed with Lowe's program. Peyton had a blast. They are signed up for another class in two weeks to build a helicopter!

Happy Independence Day!!!
We are home from a long weekend in Tennessee. On Wednesday we headed to Knoxville, TN and spent the night at a local Hampton Inn. Peyton had a good time swimming at the indoor pool. On Thursday we headed to the Knoxville Zoo. We had the perfect weather as it was low 80's with little to no humidity. We really enjoyed seeing another zoo and we got in FREE because we are Cincinnati Zoo members which was really nice. Peyton enjoyed the water play area that they have too and checking out a new zoo.
Thursday afternoon we headed to Rogersville, TN where Tim grew up and we spent the next three nights at his Mom's and Step Dad's house. We enjoyed our time hanging out at their house and I feel like we went from one meal to the next. Peyton took his bike as well as his soccer goals so he was able "show off" all of his tricks and skills. Tim's Mom always goes out of her way to cook ALL of our favorites when we are in town. Saturday was full of fun 4th of July festivities. We enjoyed the town parade, going to the park, a cookout, smores and sparklers. It was a fun filled day for sure! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday too! Happy Independence Day!

It's Peyton's Day!!! Celebrating our fourth forever Family Day!
We prayed for this child and the Lord has
Granted us what we asked of Him.
1 Samuel 1:27
We are so happy to celebrate our fourth family day on June 30, 2009. It is hard to believe another year has passed as we are celebrating our fourth Family Day! This year it is known as "Peyton's Day". After Mother's Day and Father's Day, Peyton wanted to know when "his" day was...of course with our Family Day so close we decided to rename our Family Day...Peyton's Day! We are spending the day as a family doing whatever Peyton wants. Of course he also has a couple of gifts to open and a small cake :-) What celebration would be complete without :-)
This year Peyton completed his first year of preschool, played soccer for the YMCA, flew on an airplane for the first time since he came home from Guatemala (and loved it), spent a week at Walt Disney World on our family vacation, is riding his bike like a pro, swimming like a fish and has started taking taekwondo lessons!
He is no longer our little boy but a very big boy...he is very excited about going back to school in the fall and his favorite holiday of all time is Christmas which he is already counting down the days for :-)
Love,
Melissa, Tim and Peyton

Time off...Disney Trip and More!

I have taken some much needed time off from the blogging world. We ended the school year with our family vacation to Walt Disney World. We had the TIME of our lives! I have to say that I just never DREAMED it would be as much fun as what it was! It was a trip full of MAGIC! It was so much fun to see Walt Disney World through Peyton's eye's. He had the time of his life. In addition to taking Peyton I also took my 8 year old niece. She too had a fabulous trip and one that she will remember for a lifetime. Sharing our trip with her was something that I am very happy that we did.
Some of the high lights of our trip were:
1. Flying to Walt Disney World
2. Staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge-Savannah View and waking up watching the zebra's and giraffe's every day!
3. Riding Dumbo, several times!
4. Finding Nemo the Musical at the Animal Kingdom
5. Dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the two step sisters and step mother.
6. Story time with the Fairy Godmother
7. Getting selected as the first family to enter Animal Kingdom!!! Getting taken to ride the Kilimanjaro Animal Safari FIRST and then getting a fast pass for each of us for another ride of our choice.
8. Every time that Peyton saw a princess and said, "She is so beautiful"
9. Breakfast at O'hana's with Lilo and Stitch
10. Peyton's cool dude makeover and Kaitlyn's princess makeover!!!
Coming "home" was a difficult reality for us all. Disney provides such AWESOME customer service! It was hard to get back into our routine with school ending and summer starting. Another surprise for me was that Peyton decided to "go home" with my parents for two nights after our trip. So Tim and I took advantage of our "break" and enjoyed two date nights!!!
I am finally back into a routine. Peyton has started taking taekwondo, I just completed my year long term as MOMS Club of Independence, KY President and we are spending our days doing fun summer activities and swimming in our "cool tub". Life is good!

Green Dragons!
Saturday the Green Dragon's played a great game. The final score was 15-1 (we were 15). Peyton scored a goal and did a little dance after, it was too cute. We also handed out medals to all the players and Tim handed out patches to the kids too! We have had a great season and I am very proud of Peyton and Tim! Here are pictures from the game.

Happy Birthday to ME!
Well Friday was my birthday...I spent the morning at the Cincinnati Zoo with Peyton and two other Guatemama's. We had a great time. We fed the giraffes and enjoyed LaRosa's pizza together, rode the train and saw a few zoo babies. All of Peyton's favorites! For dinner Tim took Peyton and I to Red Robin. Red Robin is one of our favorites and I got a FREE gourmet burger for my birthday. Of course they embarrassed me by singing since Peyton told them it was his Mommy's birthday...
Tim bought me a very nice teak shower seat for my shower (since when we custom built our home our builder made a mistake and ordered the WRONG shower for me and I have been complaining about it since) and he also got me a 1 hour massage! I had a great day with lots of emails, cards, phone calls and face book well wishes!!!
